PDF files are files which can be read with the Adobe Acrobat Reader. They are ideal for distributing documents over the Internet while still allowing them to be nearly identical to their printed form.
This means that it's possible for you to download the PDF version of one of these product sheets and save it on your hard drive for later; or, perhaps, to print it out only minutes after downloading it - and what you'll see in each case is the same document that American Bicycle can mail or fax to you.
American Bicycle wishes its customers to have the easiest, quickest and most comprehensive access to its product information possible.
How do I actually down load the PDF file when it shows on my screen?
Click on the "diskette" icon in the top left corner of the Adobe Acrobat Reader window; it will open a standard file saving menu. Indicate where on your computer's hard disk(s) you want to copy the PDF file to and click save.
What is the Adobe Acrobat Reader?
The Adobe Acrobat Reader is an application which is distributed freely over the Internet by Adobe Systems Incorporated. Once installed, it allows you to easily view and print electronically published documents as true to their printed form as possible.
File size.
Since a PDF printer quality version of a document contains high resolution photographs and graphics suitable for 4 color printing by a printing company, the file size is large to accommodate the quality necessary for 4 color printing. But we can also make a much lower resolution version of the same document that down loads much faster over the internet and is of adequate quality for viewing on a computer screen which only has 72 dots per inch as opposed to the minimum printing standard of 300 dots per inch. The low resolution version can be printed out on an ink jet or laser printer, but the quality will not be very good but can be adequate for basic information. For presentation, we recommend using the high resolution versions. At 48k connection speed one mega bite will take approximately 4 minutes to down load and 100k will take approximately 20 seconds. These speeds vary considerably from user to user. This is just to give a rough idea of down load time.
How can I obtain a copy of the Adobe Acrobat Reader?
You can download the Reader from Adobe's Website.
